For the opening of a new flagship boutique in Milan(designed by Gwenaël Nicolas) Fendi timed another significant event – an exhibition dedicated to the long and passionate relationship of the brand with cinema which is impossible not to be proud of. A two-storey boutique, designed in golden tones and eclectic style has opened its doors on Via Montenapoleone, too.

Trade homage Making Dreams: Fendi and the Cinema opened just one block from the legendary street of boutiques – in the Teatro Manzoni, the world’s first panoramic cinema, the cradle Kinopanorama – unusually complex in the production format that emerged in the fifties of the last century, when the cinema was going through another “Golden Age”.

‘Cinema has always been an important part of our family life and our brand,’ says Silvia Venturini Fendi. ‘I remember as a little girl, film screenings were events in their own right. The cinema would enter our house, we would set up a white screen and the whole event would be met with a religious silence. We have worked alongside the greatest directors of yesterday and today, from Luchino Visconti to Wes Anderson, from Martin Scorsese to Giuseppe Tornatore, and we will continue to do so.’

“This exhibition will allow the visitor to discover the secret history of women within the context of visual art, previously unknown to the public” promises Silvia Fendi-Vinturini. Traditionally, she personally greeted at the opening guests like Catherine Deneuve and Ornella Muti .
The event was attended by several personalities from the world of fashion and film: the model Cara Delevigne, Anna Dello Russo, Delfina Delettrez Fendi, and many others.

Sergio Rossi Spring/Summer 2014 Collection

Seventies suggestions for the new collection of shoes made by Angelo Ruggeri, Design Director of Sergio Rossi brand, which for the next hot season relies on the colors of nature and kaleidoscopic graphisms soaring sandals, boots and neckline. In a harmonious interplay of contrasts the stiletto becomes pyramidal transforming even the most valuable models in contemporary accessories full of allure. The extreme purity of form emphasizes the refinement and processing of materials, from the sculptural bamboo sandals or boots in the interweaving ”"Vienna straw”", a sophisticated process that pays homage to the visual impressions of interior designer David Hicks. The organic world is revived with patterns and prints, such as those made with animal soutage embroidery. Dazzling and exclusive the new jewel sandals: pave rhinestone degradè are sensually wrapping the ankle and embellish the silhouette.

Woman it’s time to learn to love yourself!

Woman it's time to learn to love yourself!

Woman it’s time to learn to love yourself!

The purpose of this article is to no longer exist in a year , two, most five , because then women over a 46  size (italian) will not need a special space dedicated to them, but will share the services of fashion to fifty percent with size zero models . It will be so, it is quite easy to make a prediction , if we consider that the plus size clothing market in the U.S. alone hides a treasure from $ 17 billion a year….

And to lead the succesful television show  X Factor USA is the beautiful shapely Khloe Kardashian , not Heidi Klum. This promise is for now a battle , carried out by a community of bloggers and transcontinental fashion activists over the past two years has done a loton the network. Some are so disruptive , and so beautiful, that the italian brand Marina Rinaldi has invited them to Milan as the face of the new collection and the campaign Women Are Back .

The first lesson that we all have to learn is that size is a state of mind and self-esteem is a very powerful weapon , highly contagious. And this girls know it!They like each other , promote solidarity between women and do not spare compliments. They are , in short , the key to liberation.

Under the motto “every woman has the right to be fashionable ,” each of these icons makes it clear that( in the end something we already know) : we tie ourselves to the consideration of clothes more  than we admit. Or , with an example , if we leave the house with a coral red dress cinched at the waist , breasts out, a bit ‘ of heels , we are 45 times more likely to smile at strangers who walked the dog , within the first 100 meters . And to be reciprocated . A dress that enhances there is a step forward in the long process of acceptance that we all face.

But how easy it is to find that dress? Marie Denee, who has a master’s degree in marketing and retail experience gives us some data : the plus size customers spend one and half times the regular customers , buying more items in one shopping session and are inclined to talk about their experience on social media three times as much. But for the majority of fashion designers of high fashion the idea of associating their products in non thread-like bodies is a taboo stronger than the economic loss that results. And for most of the other , for the large distribution chains that churn clothing basic in all measures (for example, for the 100 million Americans over 46 ) , it is easier and much cheaper a nice perfect square cut , and not think about it anymore.

For now , of course. Because thanks to the tam tam battle that resonates from curvy blog to curvy blog , especially online multiply the lines that highlight the different conformations (see Asos , which has sections Curves, Maternity , Petite ) .

The second lesson to learn (or maybe the first) is that size is a number that doesn’t translate in being healthy. This girls, they eat in a healthy way. They aren’t running around with a sign with the inscription Fat Pride . First because they are not fans of fat , they aren’t ”fat activists”,it isn’t a war against “skinny bitches” it is about learning to love yourself.  They say: ” You have to find just one thing that you like and you love it , it will be your strength ” and say it with a certainty that convinces you that really work .

And still, damn, how to call them !?!  They are saying that the term ” curvy ” is a bit ‘ abused. Maybe we could try ”voluptuous “? But in English it is sublime anf in Italian ridiculous. “Robust?”…. is a canvas bag , “soft”?… is the skin after hair removal . And one of them suggests : ” How about WOMEN? “!

Here they are ,the girls/women that try to change the mentality of the last century :

Katya Zharkova (Russia) is the first plus-size supermodel of her country. When she started , at age 14 , the casting directors were happy assuming that they had find a Barbie Then she appeared in bikini and was regularly discarded. Untill  ones of her teachers brought a book, I am a Model , which contained different types of mannequins . Et voila, a new star was born.Today Katya presents successful programs on TV, is a producer , performer, teaches teenagers how to live well with their body and fights for increasing the number of models that go beyond the standard .

Katya’s mantras :

1 . “Every woman has a unique style, is the daughter of different parents and will appeal to a different man “

2 . “When you happen to mockery in the mirror , you’re not mocking you. You have it with the dress, that doesn’t value your shape . “

Self-definition . “I am perfect . Perfect in my skin . I know that people sometimes get scared about it. And I try to teach them in response . The beauty is created : you have to think well, eat well, appreciate the people around you .Love yourself . “

Georgina Horne (UK) is the girl that helps you to find the perfect lingerie for each shape. ”When I hear or read advice like” the girls in the flesh must use dark colors to narrow silhouette ” I think perhaps there are women who do not care at all to restrict it . Look thinner is not an achievement . It is an achievement when you like what you wear and you create your look . ” “In the blog I talk about some sport I do and there are those who criticize me , says a woman proud of her body does jogging. But I oppose , no one has the right to criticize anyone , whether fat or thin . One of my most clicked post is titled : Why I do not hate skinny girls . “

Marie Denee (USA)(nickname. Kumbaya , spiritual song from the thirties that symbolizes unity ) an expert in marketing and graduated in fashion management, a veteran of the blog curvy content , consider social media the place to make your voices heard . And where all are welcome : “The more bloggers means more readers, more shops, more ideas that enter the bloodstream and are oriented to high fashion .”

Hey designers, retailers, marketers you out the listen for your own(business) good at least : This girls are giving you gold on a silver plate ,easy like this : I would like to show off the nude look , but I can not . It drives me crazy to think that for the standard sizes exist in all shades and in mine it doesn’t . Who knows, maybe you ‘ll listen to me … “.

What do you ask the designers  you with as a consultant ? “ I ask : would you wear it ? If not, why do you think we’ll do ? ‘ .

A stylist that you would like in the club ? ” Diane Von Furstenberg, I love its sophisticated aesthetic , contemporary , boho -luxe .”

If tomorrow you will wakeup being a 40 (italian size, US size 4 ) ? “Probably I could scream , I would think I”m in a film, Freaky Friday , but then I would still be doing what I do now : make women feel beautiful . My mother was in the army, for me is like being in service . “

Tanesha Awasthi (USA ) “In the past I have suffered from eating disorders and I trained so hard it hurts : Five years ago I had a knee injury . After the surgery I had the time to realize that I was not happy . That my body has been and it always will be like this. So I started eating normal , exercises in normal doses, and I’ve never been happier. Open the blog has been a huge step, it was the acceptance of my body. And the positive reactions of the people are the confirmation I needed .

Word of a male. “A single father with a daughter of eleven years old, tall and shapely , wrote me that she did not feel at ease, and he was so happy to find my blog that he started to follow me. I was moved . Of course , there are also those that you write, ” hey sexy , what a nice ass,” but are deleted instantly. I want the teenagers know what attitudes I do not tolerate . “

Edith Dohmen (Netherlands). Her line, Edith Domen , launched in April , is the first dedicated to  the “ inbetweenie” : Women between the size 46 and 52 ,  those which are penalized by the industry because do not fit in standard sizes  . ” I use the term because inbetweenie is positive : no child wants to be average , prefer the idea of being special.”

“I’m stylist for ten years, I use my experience to teach to recreate runway looks in different sizes. Fashion has a component of dream and illusion , it is aspirational , but this world can be popular with women of different sizes and ages . “

Iris Tinunin ( Italy ) a 23 year old from Forte dei Marmi ,launched her blog in 2010 because matching outfits and makeup is stronger than her. ”I’m a 46, in the rest of Europe I’m considered a regular size . I participated in the project Women Are Back to show that there are different body shapes. The important thing is to understand which clothes are good to you , and create your own style . This year, for example, are back crop top , the ones with the belly out. I do not even think , is my weak point. But I put the mini , since I have the toned legs . “

Are you buying online to avoid the embarrassment of going into stores? “ Personally I buy online  because when my readers ask me where I got a dress , I send them directly to the shop’s link . “
